Dr. Joshua Burk is a double board-certified vascular and general surgeon who spent six years training at the University at Buffalo before completing his vascular surgery fellowship at University Hospitals / Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in complex aortic and endovascular surgery at Hôpital Marie-Lannelongue in Paris under Prof. Stéphan Haulon — one of the world's foremost aortic surgeons.
He returned to Western New York by choice: to bring techniques for the most challenging aortic and arterial disease — branched and fenestrated repair, radiation-sparing endovascular methods, complex open reconstruction — to the community where he trained. He practices at Gates Vascular Institute / Buffalo General, Erie County Medical Center, and Niagara Falls Memorial, and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University at Buffalo.
His research spans emergent repair of ruptured thoracoabdominal aneurysms, aortic disease in connective tissue disorders, and radiation-free endovascular repair. An MBA in healthcare management shapes how he runs his practice: efficient visits, clear communication, and decisions made with patients — not for them.
